Hospital owner and veterinarian Dr. Julie Miller attended the University of California at Los Angeles and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in 1988. After completing her undergraduate studies, Dr. Miller was admitted to the U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated in 1993 and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
Immediately following veterinary school, Dr. Miller began an internship program in emergency medicine and surgery at California Animal Hospital in Los Angeles. She completed this additional training in 1994 and began to practice general medicine in Palo Alto. She purchased Pet's Friend in 2002.
Dr. Miller is actively involved in local veterinary associations and in the community. She was elected to the board of directors of the local emergency clinic in 2006. She is a member of both the California and American Veterinary Medical Associations.
Away from the clinic, Dr. Miller enjoys horseback riding, playing tennis and designing and making jewelry. She and her husband, Mike, a director at a local Bay Area biotech company, welcomed their son, Miles, into the family in July 2007. They also share their home with a Standard Poodle named Luc.
